Kerry Washington‘s comedy UnPrisoned will return to Hulu this summer, with all eight episodes set to drop Wednesday, July 17, TVLine has learned.
In Season 2, “the Alexander family is still a mess, Paige’s (Washington) therapy practice is in trouble and Finn’s anxiety is through the roof,” according to the official description. “Edwin (Delroy Lindo) is still figuring out how to get his life together outside of prison, and their relationships are more complicated than ever. The family needs help, and it’s time to call in a professional — other than Paige. The Alexanders turn to a ‘family radical healing coach,’ who throws out all the rules to free them of the issues, old wounds and family secrets holding them back.”
Inspired by the life of creator Tracy McMillan and showrun by TV vet Yvette Lee Bowser (Living Single, Dear White People), the cast also includes Marque Richardson (Dear White People) as Edwin’s parole officer; Faly Rakotohavana (Raven’s Home) as Paige’s impressionable teenage son; Brenda Strong (Supergirl) as Edwin’s former girlfriend; Tim Daly (Private Practice) as Paige’s almost-divorced boyfriend; Jee Young Han (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) as Paige’s foster sister; and Jordyn McIntosh as Little Paige.

Love this show… It was sad when it ended can’t wait for season 2…
Very much looking forward to it.
The show has pluses and minuses. Love Edwin’s character and story. Paige is a completely unbelievable character as a therapist. I also don’t like the younger Paige popping in. It really doesn’t help tell the story at all. The teenager is a believable character so I’ll give it a season 2 and see how it goes.
Yes definitely will be watching. I loved the show and hope it stays for a couple seasons. It seems that every good show gets cut soon as we start enjoying it.
