Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for the 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are over 140 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe. We look forward to our opening in Marina Del Rey, CA.

    The hostess was great! The waitress lacked experience. She didn't appear to be a skilled server. Came across as non-personable. Lacked exceptional customer service and care. Not good for the Ruth Chris brand.

    It was far too noisy. Had I understood this I would have requested a booth with high back seating. Food was delicious, but very slow arriving. However, we were still eating our first course when the steaks arrived. Asked to have them held a few minutes until we finished. Someone s/h passed by our table before delivering the main course. This would have avoided our discomfort with trying to eat salad/soup and avoiding 500 degree plates. UGH. Then, somehow our filet's were reverse identified. Mine was to have been M/R, and my companions was to have been M. The steak I received was nearly all brown with a hint of pink. Hers was red inside. I gave high "star" marks, but after writing this I sorry I would not recommend RC - MdR. Star institution, mediocre execution.

    Food was delicious. It was seasoned very well. We had the ribeye steak, crab cakes, cream spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, Cesar salad and vegan chocolate cake. Everything was flavorful. Our server was very knowledgeable about the offerings and provided great service.

    We sat at the bar and the service was extremely slow. The bar tenders were arguing amongst themselves. Other patrons were vaping at the bar to the point there was a cloud around them and the bar tenders and management did nothing about it. Food was really good though.

    Awesome. Ty is a wizard. Walter is a maestro at food service. I think this is my new favorite location of RC. The patio is awesome. Oh yea, the food was what I’ve come to expect from RC… perfection. Just shut up and take my money.

    The service was over the top. The place is lovely and it was blessedly not noisy. We've been there before and the food has been excellent, but last evening which was a friend's birthday, the food was a serious disappointment. The mushrooms stuffed with crab appetizer was bland and lacking any visible or taste-able crab. The hamburgers were so oversalted that they were almost inedible, the french fries were limp. However, the grey goose cocktail was delicious as was the cheesecake dessert.

    The staff went out of their way to make it a special 51st anniversary dinner for my parents. They decorated the table, gave them greeting cards, and a free dessert. Bri was a great server that was attentive to our needs.

    We have eaten at this location many times-the staff is friendly and professional. Our server Sam, was excellent but had too many tables to provide quick service. We loved his personality and felt he did an amazing job under the circumstances. The food was subpar compared to the past-medium came out medium well to well, and chewy. Another medium was really rare. Very disappointing for a steak place. The sides were excellent and the dinner salad noticeably smaller in portion but still fresh and tasty. We were also celebrating a birthday and had to remind the hostess. Overall a good but definitely not great experience.

    We celebrated our daughter’s graduation at the Ruth’s Chris in Marina Del Rey on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 and was very disappointed. While the food was delicious, the service that evening was atrocious. Our water glasses were left empty so much of the evening, asking as many as 3 employees before finally getting them refilled. It would be 20 to 30 minutes gaps between ever having anyone checking in to see how we were doing. Two different servers opened wine bottles for us at our table, both times you would have thought it was the first cork that they had ever pulled from a bottle. We were left to find our own small plates after our desserts were brought to our table, as there was absolutely no one around to help us. I have eaten at Ruth’s Chris many times over the years and have come to expect both great food and exemplary service. I have received better service at Denny’s on a busy night than what we were provided that evening. Sadly, it will be a long time before I consider going back to Ruth’ Chris.

    I have eaten at many Ruth Chris restaurants throughout the Western United States. This particular restaurant in Marina Del Rey has the worst service by far . We sat down and only one table setting with napkin was present. We received our appetizers and had to go rob from the other tables . It took at least 30 minutes to get our drinks . We ordered more bread that took at least 20 minutes . The entrees came without one of the sides we ordered . By the time we got that dinner was done . My wife ordered a second glass of wine which never came . The food was pretty good but what happened to the sides . 1 side use to feed 3-4 people not anymore, single serving only . Very disappointing

    We are avid RC fans and dine with them whenever we can, including when we visit other states, countries etc. I just say that this visit to the Marina deal Rey RC wasn’t our fave nor was it the best. When you think about RC, you expect the hot sizzling plate….none of our steaks came out sizzling. Our apps were sent back Bc they were cold. The fries were sent back for being limp and soggy. The Rare steak was over cooked. The Medium steak was rare. The drinks were sweating Bc there was no ice. It was just not our favorite and lacked the RC experience we’ve always received. When you spend upwards of $600 on a bill you expect perfection; sadly, this dining experience missed the mark. Our server, Neal, was delightful and we he (along with the fish dish) were the only stars of the night. Go to Mastros instead, we should’ve gone there….
