Daytime stars will be coming together for a good cause later this month and you can help as they Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C). On Thursday, May 16, in collaboration with daytime community voices Alan Locher and Michael Fairman, various actors and actresses will take part in Daytime Stands Up: A Benefit for Stand Up To Cancer… We All Have a Story.

The three-hour live-stream event, will feature past and present soap stars, as well as special celebrity guests, and will include musical performances and stories of emotional on-and-off screen experiences with cancer from such stars as General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison (Drew) and The Young and the Restless’ Colleen Zenk (Jordan) and Eric Braeden (Victor), as viewers are encouraged to support urgently needed research and new cancer treatments.

There will be moving tributes to soap stars who’ve lost their cancer battles, including General Hospital’s Jackie Zeman (ex-Bobbie), As the World Turns’ Elizabeth Hubbard (ex- Lucinda), One Life to Live’s Jerry verDorn (Clint), Andrea Evans (Tina) and Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio). Plus, poignant reflections from actors who have portrayed breast cancer survivors, including Young & Restless’ Sharon Case (Sharon) and Eileen Davidson (Ashley), One Life to Live’s Erika Slezak (Victoria), Guiding Light’s Tina Sloan (Lillian) and Kim Zimmer (Reva) and more.

Additional talent slated to participate in the virtual benefit include (subject to change): One Life to Live’s Eddie Alderson (Matthew) and Kristen Alderson (Starr), Days of Our Lives’ Elia Cantu (Jada), Carson Boatman (Johnny), Brandon Barash (Stefan), Wally Kurth (Justin), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Leo Howard (Tate) and Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eve), Bold & Beautiful’s Don Diamont (Bill) and Lesli Kay (ex-Felicia), General Hospital’s Eden McCoy (Joss) and Kin Shriner (Scott) and Young & Restless’ Michelle Stafford (Phyllis).

The benefit will run from 8 pm to 11 pm Eastern on The Locher Room and Michael Fairman Channel, as well as on StandUpToCancer/DaytimeStandsUp.

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

In support of the event, SU2C will simultaneously launch a 10-day eBay silent auction, from May 16 through 26, where fans can bid on a wide range of items, including a meet-and-greet experience with the cast of Days of Our Lives, an autographed script from the cast of Young & Restless and signed merchandise from Bold & Beautiful.

But wait, there’s more…

The highest bidder can win a 1:1 video call with General Hospital’s Cynthia Watros (Nina), Maura West (Ava) and Laura Wright (Carly), Young & Restless’ Zenk, Robert Newman (ex-Ashland) and Vincent Irizarry (ex-David) and more. Full details will be shared the evening of May 16, on Stand Up To Cancer’s website.
