That's a wrap on Cortland Finnegan's NFL career. The cornerback made the announcement Wednesday on Instagram. And as was the case during his nine years in the league, he did a little trash-talking on his way out the door, too.

“Spent 9 years doing something I Loved and it has payed off in so many ways,” Finnegan wrote. “To say I have been blessed is an understatement I am forever thankful. I have made my share of mistakes and had moments of glory. I even got into a fight in an NFL Game ( he hits like a bish). I’m thankful for the friends I made on and off the field love yAll.. Time to move on and enjoy new people new places and new ideas.. I forgot to thank all the haters I love yAll to.”

Ah yes, the fight.

That scuffle took place in November 2010, after Johnson, one the most mild-mannered players in the league, snapped on Finnegan, who was often described as "dirty" during his playing days.

"I really don’t have anything to say about Cortland," Johnson after fighting with Finnegan in that 2010 game. "I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, and my teammates. What happened out there today was not me. I just lost my cool and I wish that I could take back what happened, but I can't. It's over and done with now. I'm pretty sure that I'll be disciplined for it. When that time comes, I'll find out what it is and have to deal with it from there ... I hope that I’m not suspended for the next game."

A year later, then-Texans wideout Kevin Walter talked about how much Finnegan was disliked.

"Even before last year, before the whole fight with him and Andre -- years before that -- he's been pushing people around, he's pushed me in the back after a play," Walter said at the time. "But you know what? He runs away. He'll run away from it. And then you'll talk to him and he'll hide by his guys."

We suppose it only makes sense that, during his retirement announcement, Finnegan would take one last shot at Johnson and the Texans.
