• Hello.

I am asking for help with a problem I have been dealing with for several weeks.

The first time it happened was when I was on vacation (on public wifi). WordPress wouldn’t log me in with my log in and passowrd- the login page looked different than usual. Instead of a form, there was a pop-up window (see printscreen).

    Normal:

    Weird:

Even though I entered the login information correctly, it was not possible to log in. Only when I try logged in via my mobile phone’s hot spot (secure wifi) did the login succeed.

A week ago, I opened a course with a members’ section, and several clients now have the same problem. They can’t log in. Instead of the normal login interface, they see some weird pop up window and even if they enter the correct information, WordPress won’t let them log in.

Why? What can you do? Access must also be possible from public WiFi, I cannot limit my clients in this way.

That looks like a login prompt that’s set via .htaccess. This is NOT a WordPress login.

If you didn’t add that, please contact your host. They may be restricting direct access to WP’s login via geolocation or some other IP based method.
