Acting career
Garson’s “Sex and the City” character was a close friend of Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw. He was one of the show’s most prominent supporting characters, and he also appeared in the 2008 “Sex and the City” movie and its 2010 sequel. Garson had a broad career outside the HBO hit, starring in “White Collar” as well as taking recurring TV roles in “Mr. Belvedere,” “NYPD Blue,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Supergirl.” He also made guest appearances on a wide variety of TV shows, including “Family Ties,” “Twin Peaks,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Medium,” and “Two and a Half Men.” His movies include “Troop Beverly Hills,” “Soapdish,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Being John Malkovich,” and “Fever Pitch.”
