Two of the best 2019 Bollywood movies, Gully Boy and Uri: The Surgical Strike, both made over $4 million at the box office, despite playing in fewer than 300 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo. Those are some impressive numbers.

Most people probably associate long running times and musical numbers with Indian cinema. The truth, though, is that the greatest Bollywood movies of 2019 come in many genres. Some do have music and romance, others are war dramas or comedies. There are animated features and thrillers, too. Audiences around the world enjoy the variety of Bollywood cinema, as well as the showmanship that routinely goes into its productions.
