Southern California Defeats Gonzaga 15-3 in First-Ever Trip to Spokane

The Zags will wrap their 2024 regular season at home against Pepperdine this weekend

SPOKANE, Wash. – After an eight-day hiatus, Gonzaga baseball welcomed Southern California for their final midweek game of the 2024 season. The game marked the first meeting between the two teams since 1989 and the first-ever in Spokane as the Trojans took the 15-3 win.
 
USC (25-27) improves to 10-2 all-time against Gonzaga (19-27) with Tuesday's win.
 
After surrendering a run in the top of the first, the Zags responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. Tommy Eisenstat plated Hudson Shupe before a double steal brought home the second run of the frame.
 
USC responded in the top of the second with three to take a 4-2 lead, before adding one in the fifth inning and seven in the sixth inning to open a 12-2 lead that could not be caught. In total, USC's 15 runs came on 17 hits while Gonzaga's three runs came on eight hits.
 
For the Zags, Shupe and Eisenstat each recorded multi-hit performances. Vincent Temesvary extended his on-base streak to 14 games as well in the loss.
