I was in a panic when I took out my over 10 year old apple peeler and the blades were so dull the apples were not peeling,coring or slicing properly. Last night at 7 PM I sat there looking at the 200 lbs of apples sitting on my dining room table and desperately needed to replace my apple peeler, corer. Amazon and Pampered Chef to the rescue. Received the product this morning and I'm back to my canning preparations. The reason I chose the Pampered Chef brand is that their products are well made and long lasting. In addition, I needed a clamp on product and not one that suctioned to the counter top - they don't work well for large volume work.

It was used and in good condition. It could have been cleaned up a bit but it works. No instructions with it and if you haven't used one before you would be lost as to how to put it together. Lucky my sister had one so we could get it working with her assistance. It did need adjustments which might be why someone was getting rid of it. Its the only way to peel and slice apples. I've done probably 2 bushels with it. Now its adjusted it works great!

We did use them outside on the edge of a picnic table. It was kinda messy. I'm glad I had this option as I don't know I'd want to do it in my kitchen for clean up. It could be that we allowed the men to use the "tools" and they were in charge of peeling, slicing, and coring! Want to try it on potatoes one day
