Born in Saint John, Sutherland rose to stardom from early roles in Dirty Dozen and M.A.S.H. and has since received numerous accolades including an honorary Oscar, two Golden Globe Awards, a companionship of the Order of Canada and even a Canada Post stamp bearing his image.

LISTEN | Why, after an incredible career in film, Donald Sutherland is most proud of appearing on a stamp:

Made Up, But Still True details Sutherland's adventures, triumphs and trials on and off set, his strong bond with his parents, the health scares that almost killed him and his first and enduring loves. With signature humour, sensitivity and surprising honesty, Sutherland opens up on the life of a Hollywood icon and all that comes with it.

Made Up, But Still True will be published by Viking Canada and will hit shelves on Nov. 12, 2024.
