Navia Robinson is a young American Emmy Award-nominated actress, who started pursuing a career in performing arts when she was five years old. She’s perhaps best known for her appearance in the sitcom “Raven’s Home.”
Age, Early Life, and Education Background
Navia Ziraili Robinson was born in Marietta, Georgia, under the Taurus zodiac sign on 4 May 2005, which makes her 18 years old as of 2023. Her parents are Jeffrey Robinson and Lisa Butler-Robinson who is of Northern British roots. She has two older brothers named Gianni and Maz Robinson. Career
In 2014, Robinson made her TV debut with the role of D’Asia in the BET TV drama series “Being Mary Jane.” She appeared in 10 episodes during her one-year stint in the show, which starred the likes of Lisa Vidal, Richard Brooks and Gabrielle Union. In January 2016, Navia’s talent caught the attention of Nick Minaj, who was looking for an actor to portray her young version in the pilot of the upcoming single-camera comedy series “Nicki.” The show revolves around the immigration of Minaj’s family from Trinidad and Tobago, and her childhood in Queens. The production started in January 2016 but Nicki Minaj announced in October 2016 that the shooting was postponed.
2017 saw Navia cast to guest star in an episode of the acclaimed supernatural teen drama “The Vampire Diaries.” In the same year, she landed the main role of Rossie in the British TV drama series “Free Rein,” which is about a Los Angeles teenager who begins bonding with an unusual horse after touring her mom’s childhood home in England during the summer. She appeared in 20 episodes in 2017 and 2018 and shared the screen with Jaylen Barron, Manpreet Bambra, and Freddy Carter.
Between 2017 and 2021, Navia starred as Nia Baxter-Carter in 81 episodes of the Disney Channel sitcom “Raven’s Home.” The series is about a single mom, Raven Baxter (portrayed by Raven-Symoné) who raises her kids together with her friend Chelsea Daniel (Annelise van der Pol). Things take a weird turn when Baxter’s son begins to show psychic abilities. Navia was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Performer in a Children’s Program for her praised portrayal of Nia Baxter. Concurrently, she assumed supporting roles in a few other series and TV specials and her next notable role (voice) was in the computer-animated children’s TV series “The Rocketeer” in 2019 and 2020.

Recently in 2023, Navia starred as Carrie Kelley in 13 episodes of The CW superhero TV series “Gotham Knights.” Some of her co-stars included Olivia Rose Keegan, Anna Lore, Fallon Smythe and Misha Collins. Navia will lend her voice in several episodes of “Dora the Explorer,” which follows the adventures of a young Hispanic girl, Dora, and her red boot-wearing monkey, Boots.
Navia has posed for various well-known fashion houses in the US, and has also appeared in national ads for various notable companies, including In Touch Ministries, AT&T, Smithfield Foods, Inc., and Synovus Bank, among others. In 2015, Robinson participated in Disney’s 14-day boot camp in Los Angeles, California.
