Interesting paper, the debate continues. Was thinking of making a subtle plug for , but not sure it'll be that subtle.

Who will win? Surgeons? patients? primary care? physio? sports med? Who will decide about the knee injury research of the future?? Just a few mins to have your say. 👊👏 #MedTwitter #orthotwitter

This is interesting on so many levels. Direct marketing is a challenge but this also talks to the special relationships surgeons have with patients & the need for wise stewardship of new tech. Of course, we also need trials.... 😉

- 7 new studies - Still limited data to best inform practice🤷‍♂️ - Further trials needed with validated PROMs/QoL measures to guide clinicians 🧐 #distalfemur #orthotwitter

The team applied our recent adaptive design method to some big-hitting T&O trials . Some big time gains, both money saving but more importantly quicker answers for patients and improved care earlier With some simple design changes, more studies would have stopped.

This was a really special event to be involved with. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and it’s clear VR has a role in surgical training. So grateful for all the hard work of everyone involved to make it happen. #orthotwitter #meded

We've used virtual reality technology to help prepare and train our surgeons of the future. The simulation technology allows trainees to practice and develop their skills in a safe environment before they go into a real operating theatre. bit.ly/VRTechTraining (1/2)

This is also true of rotator cuff tears and back pain. It may well be true for PROMs for most ortho conditions. The point is that we can't use improvements in case series to say that a treatment works, we have to have comparative data, with RCTs.

Interesting study, I need to read through the details but seems very well done, the point they made about unreported trials was eye opening too.

It seems I have to update my beliefs. New review shows that effect of HA in knee OA related pain is -2/100 mm. I have considered HA as an option especially since scopes have been de-implemented in these patients. No more HA. #ebm #orthotwitter bmj.com/content/378/bm
