Typical dull western we're used to these days, except extra long. Wouldn't it be better to add more heart into the story and production instead of adding more of the same. The mood of these lame modern westerns are too serious, in that way that nobody takes them serious. They just do their story without a hint of charm.
It's a long film but damn was it quite good and I shocked myself. Directed by someone who I have watched a lot of actually and sometimes he gets things right. Even though it's over 2 hours long, it did hold my attention all the way and same can;' be said for others this long. Really interesting as a story I thought also and not the genre of film I would go deep into.

A Long Drawn out boring Western that not even the Pew Pew gunfights can save it. 1 star for Val Kilmer who I felt pity for during his scenes. Man is so messed up that he's still trying his hardest after everything thats happened to him.
Film is shot alright and the acting is meh but overall, this didn't need to be over 2 hours long. Cut down the padding scenes the repeated flashbacks.
As I begin to wind down the Kilm’ Studies series, there’s something kind of poignant about his appearance here as the dad character. Really uncharacteristically quiet and vulnerable for him, and he used his real voice. Crazy to see him incapable of doing the Lizard King shtick.
This is the same dude that directed Wyatt Earp’s Revenge earlier in my Kilmer binge and while this is a far, far better movie, it also is 140 minutes long. Can you not?

I think there is an unspoken commonality for those of us that grew up in the 1990s. Yes, we grew up on Cartoon Network, Dunkaroos, Nickelodeon and having high desires of being slimed. That is not exactly what I’m addressing, but rather grandparents. I know, it seems something so random to target for 90s kids. Most of us, if not all, grew up with grandparents. For me, both my mother’s father and father’s father loved westerns and war movies. Nearly every trip my sister and I took one of those two genres were playing in the background.
