On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, the GMA-7 actress announced on Instagram that, despite her busy schedule in showbiz, she managed to find time to successfully complete her senior high school education.
In the picture she shared, Jillian proudly wore her toga while holding her diploma and first-honor certificate from Homeschool of Asia Pacific (HAP), an affiliate of Sanston Academy, which is based in Texas, U.S.A.
In the caption, Jillian quoted a line from the anime series Full Metal Alchemist: "A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something—but by enduring that pain and overcoming it, you shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart."
Jillian's post received an abundance of congratulatory messages in the comments section. Those who sent well-wishes included Abot-Kamay na Pangarap co-stars Jeff Moses and Pinky Amador, as well as other Kapuso stars such as Althea Ablan, Janeena Chan, and Miggs Cuaderno, among many others.
HOMESCHOOLING EXPERIENCE
Jillian's graduation actually took place on Monday, July 23, 2023, at the Summit Ridge Hotel Tagaytay.
During the ceremony, she spoke about her experience with homeschooling and how the program enabled her to complete her senior high school education despite her busy work schedule.
She said, "Working at your own pace, lalo lang po para sa akin, kasi meron po akong work talaga.
"If you don't know po, I work as an actress. So para sa akin po talaga, nabalanse ko po siya nang mas madali.
"And hindi po ako masyadong na-pressure kasi parang nag-bloom po ako at my own pace in terms of my skills."
Other celebrities who enrolled in HAP's homeschool program are Kyle Echarri, Jayda Avanzado, and Bimby Aquino.
