Key Information for Erasmus UE Students
Language Requirements
As per the new Sapienza guidelines, students are no longer required to provide an official certificate attesting their Italian language level. However, we highly recommend that students have no less than an intermediate level of Italian to make the most of their stay and make daily life in Rome easier and more enjoyable.
Italian Language Courses
Language courses are free of charge for all students who wish to attend them. In order to enroll in Sapienza Italian language courses, incoming Erasmus students must fill out the relevant section on their application form within the application deadlines: later/different iscriptions will not be accepted!
Academic Information
For all information on your academic calendar, syllabus, exams, etc. you need to contact the Erasmus Officer at your receiving Faculty. All didactic activity is managed at a Faculty level.

Accommodation
Sapienza signed some special housing agreements with companies that offer free intermediation service to find accommodation.
International Student Welcome Week
Sapienza organises an International Student Welcome Week During the event, students receive useful information about academic and university life at Sapienza. It is a great opportunity to meet the Erasmus staff and members of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
Enrolment in Exams for Erasmus Students – Infostud Service
As an Erasmus student at Sapienza, once you have filled out your on-line application form, you will receive a username and a temporary password to access the Infostud service. Please, remember that you are not supposed to register on Infostud by yourself!
At this point, your registration number (“matricola”) will not be active, yet. You will have to change your password to access other Infostud services. Your registration number will be fully actived only once you arrive in Rome and pick up your Erasmus student card at your faculty Erasmus office.

Fiscal Code
The Italian fiscal code, officially known in Italy as Codice fiscale, is the tax code in Italy, similar to a Social Security Number (SSN) in the United States or the National Insurance Number issued in the United Kingdom.
The code is used to identify unambiguously individuals residing in Italy irrespective of residency status. Designed by and for the Italian tax office, it is now used for several other purposes, e.g. uniquely identifying individuals in the health system, or natural persons who act as parties in private contracts (also for renting an apartment or for buying a SIM card).
The code can be issued by the Italian Embassy in your country or by the Italian tax office, the Agenzia delle Entrate.
Agenzia delle Entrate is located in Via Ippolito Nievo, 36 (500 meters from the Trastevere train station).
You can reach it by catching tram number 8 or 3, or bus number 780.

IMPORTANT: due to the current situation, you can also ask for your fiscal code via e-mail: dp.iroma@agenziaentrate.it or to dp.1Roma@pce.agenziaentrate.it by sending a copy of your passport, Visa and this form dully filled in.
