Riese: Kingdom Falling takes place in Eleysia, a dying kingdom where distrust and anxiety have clouded people's minds, causing a regression into primitive ways of thinking. Rituals and mythology have resurged, and the darker side of mankind has begun to reveal itself. Riese, a wanderer, travels across the decaying land with her wolf, Fenrir. Marked as a heretic by religious group The Sect and the new Empress, Riese must evade their assassins, led by the almost inhuman Herrick, and discover their true intentions for Eleysia.

02	Riese emerges from the fog of her pain to find herself in a hospital bed in Helmkin, a doctor leaning over her and telling her that her battle wound had been attended to, and that she should rest for a bit. When she tries to get out of bed, the doctor spots the brand on Riese's shoulder: The symbol of the wolf, marking her as a member of the former royal family. 03	Disturbed by The Sect's nightmarish practice of harvesting babies, Riese decides to stay in Helmkin to uncover the mystery and put an end to the practice - even though the town is a veritable deathtrap for her now that the Doctor knows she's of royal blood...read more...

04	Riese uses her extensive hunting experience to infiltrate the warehouse in Helmkin where the babies are being kept. The building is stuffed to the gills with infants - though she's made a promise to Hannah, Riese knows she'll never find the young woman's child like this. She discovers an office, and in it, discovers a ledger detailing where the infants are being sent - this, she tucks into her cloak and steals away...read more...

05	Seeking refuge from Herrick's bloodthirsty thugs, Riese ducks into the closest shelter, only to find it to be the home of a young mother and her child. Riese's conscience speaks where her sense knows to keep quiet: She asks the mother how they could do this, how they could let The Sect take their children. The mother spits back that they had no choice. The townspeople tried to fight, but anyone who resisted was killed. The Sect made their rules clear...read more...

06	After days of traveling on foot, Riese and Fenrir have almost reached their destination: The township of Vidar, where, according to the stolen ledger, scores of children were sent. 07	After scanning the town for clues and coming up empty handed, Riese and Fenrir decide that the best plan of action is to sleep silently through the night, and leave in the morning. But the eerie feeling of being watched haunts Riese, and her dreams reflect Vidar's nightmarish quality in vivid detail as she sees her family being murdered, as they were on that fateful day. 08	Pursued by a mob of inhuman child soldiers, Riese rushes for the door of a nearby building, but the door is locked. The children swarm around her, and Riese fears she may be done for, but the door opens and she is tugged inside by a gruff man who looks as though he hasn't seen society in months. The door buckles under the pressure of the crazed children, but holds, and the man, named Ormond, hurries Riese away from the door and towards safety. 09	After Trennan betrayed both The Sect and his empress by revealing the presence of Herrick at the temple conference, he is doubly in danger, but also doubly useful: Amara, realizing the Sect has a design on her throne, decides to use Trennan as best she can to glean information about the Sect's true agenda.
