David Duchovny está ótimo interpretando o escritor pirado Hank Mood. Natacha McElhone lindíssima interpretando Karen ex mulher do Hank por quem ele ainda é apaixonado. A série aborda alguns assuntos polêmicos mas com uma dinâmica extrovertida principalmente quando se diz respeito ao Hank e ao seu agente Charlie Hunkle interprerado por Evan Handler. A filha do hank está na fase da adolescência mas por incrível que pareça ela tem mais juízo que o pai. Ao todo a série é muito doida e divertida, e para quem acompanhou "Arquivo X" nos anos 90 sabe o quão bom ator é David Duchovny. Vale a pena assistir, é muito boa. The plot revolves around well known novelist Hank Moody, suffering from writers block. Trying to get back his writing career and to get his family back together that broke up along his journey as a writer in Los Angeles. He's self loathing, self deprecating, a drunk, at times misogynistic, and a party animal that never seemed to grow up, or grow past the failures, or successes for that matter, or the issues he faced in his life. On the other hand, he's a loving father, a lover in general. Battling his emotions and his addictions, trying to save his relationship with his ex wife and his daughter. To do the right thing. To get back to his roots. Get back to New York where he began his career and get out of the Hell that is Los Angeles. But the life keeps calling back. The first season really gives you a good picture of what Hank is about. His intentions, but also, his demons and what keeps him where he is rather than giving him an out. It really sets up the shows following seasons and what to expect. A lot of sex, drugs, rock and roll, self loathing, hilarity, shenanigans, and mishaps shape this series into what I consider one of the best tv shows of all time. The end is TERRIBLE but don't let that stop you from watching. That's just my opinion because I wish they didn't end the show. Also, it's worth mentioning, I feel like Hank Moody is based on a real person. I wouldn't know who, but, even in the show, there's a line between Hank and his agent Charlie Runkle where Charlie says "do I even have to ask? Because I know you write what you know". About something Hank did that could destroy his life. And Hank admits it's true what he wrote. That to me is an ode to the show creator. As if he wrote what he knew about that exists in that life. Maybe not about himself, but someone else. Gives you Harvey Weinstein vibes honestly. Well, those are the vibes I got anyway. If you enjoys movies where man picks up woman from bars with his wits, like in Will smith's Hitch. Then Californication is perfect fit for you, coz it is filled with such scenes. Frank is a womanizer without even trying. Its like every woman have to have piece of him which is really fun to watch. Californication is filled with "erotic" scenes as the name suggests. This show never ceases to surprise you with its funny moments. It is typically Rom-Com with a hint of drama and a lot of nude scenes. In short - its awesome xdxd.
