Poor old Jennifer's Body. This movie gets a lot of hate, and it deserves none of it. Maybe it's because Diablo Cody is a controversial writer; maybe it's because Megan Fox is considered to be a bad actress; maybe it's because it was marketed as a sexy movie for boys when it's actually a movie about female friendship. Maybe it's all of the above.
But while this movie has been written off as a trashy failed experiment in horror comedy, it's actually a thoughtful, perceptive, and scary examination of what it means to be a teenage girl.
