Former Bananarama member and co-founder Siobhan Fahey turns 65
Born in Dublin, Ireland on September 10, 1957, Siobhan Fahey, along with Keren Woodward, founded Bananarama in 1980, and recorded their first demo “Aie a Mwana” in 1981. The all girl pop band were actually proteges of some of the Punk Rock musicians at the time, including members of the Sex Pistols. With Bananarama Siobhan scored several hit songs worldwide during the 1980’s, including “Venus”, “Robert De Niro´s Waiting”, “I Heard A Rumour”, “Love in the First Degree” and “Cruel Summer”. She left the band in 1988 and formed Shakespears Sisters with whom she had the hits “You’re History” and “Stay”. The singer re-joined Bananarama for a few times since then, in 1998, in 2002 and in 2017 for a reunion tour and recently in 2019 she also reunited the Shakespears Sisters. Siobhan was married with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics from 1987 to 1996.
