Calculate flight distance in miles between any 2 cities

Hi guys,

Is there any way to calculate distance between two international cities, when travelling by air? (say, for example between Tunis and Amman)

I use below website to retrieve distance in miles and manually input in my reports.(cumbersome, with hundreds of rows)

to do this, you need a table of distances / map references between multiple locations which I assume is what is behind the web calculator but available to you (or us!).

See attached with sample formula in B34

=INDEX($B$2:$AC$29,MATCH($B$32,$A$2:$A$29,0),MATCH($B$33,$B$1:$AC$1,0))

Straight line. This is for air travel.

I normally use airmilescalculator(dotcom) to retrieve distances.

Are you sure? I only ask because most (long distance) flight paths tend to follow orthodromic routes

Yes, you are right on the logic there. I think the web calculators use this orthodromic principle. I'm no expert on this subject though.
