Alone At Prom! Lyrics
Girl this suit ain't cheap
Tonight was intended for just you and me
Heart on my sleeve
Fell in bankruptcy
Walked onto the dance floor in debt it's like
You lit a fire inside of my heart
When I saw you dancing beside another man
How am I supposed to feel?
All them nights talkin bout "we'll"
Tears leakin out my all black frames they were posed to be my shield
How am I supposed to heal
When you make my heart a meal?
Stab through my back tissue when I wanted something rеal
So your love ain't free?
Girl this suit ain't cheap
Tonight was intendеd for just you and me
Heart on my sleeve
Fell in bankruptcy
Walked onto the dance floor in debt it's like
You lit a fire inside of my heart
When I saw you dancing beside another man
All them nights talkin bout "we'll"
Tears leakin out my all black frames they were posed to be my shield
How am I supposed to heal
When you make my heart a meal?
Stab through my back tissue when I wanted something real
About
This song was an Idea I had when prom season came around and tickets started being sold. I was never a ladies man or anything so the idea of going to prom without a date was engraved in my mind. What really put the song into life was when I was talking to a girl I really liked (like.. like like) I asked her to prom. The result was a subtle rejection which burned more than a flat out one because instead of a “no” your soul clings onto the small string of hope. So I began writing and writing and kept the focus of the song all the way through, I wanted to express how It sucked that I had to go alone at prom. I have no idea how my song ballooned into what it is now but i’m forever grateful.
