Beatrix von Brandenburg was born about 1270.[1] probably the eldest daughter of Otto V 'der Lange;, Markgraf von Brandenburg, and his wife, Jutta von Henneberg.
[2][3] She was possibly married twice, her first marriage on 4 Oct 1284 to Bolko I Herzog von Jauer und Schweidnitz in Berlin,[4] the possible second between 20 Sep 1308 and 16 Jul 1311 to Wladislaw von Beuthen.[2][3] Beatrix died between 10 Apr 1312 and 26 Apr 1316.[2][3]
As for many people of this time primary records of events and places are almost non-existent. Their lives have to be reconstructed from appearances in annals, chronicles, documentations of donations, and as witnesses to other documents. For Beatrix the only easily accessible document is Pulcawa's Böhmische Chronic mentioning her family and her first marriage. All other dates and places are from secondary literature, mostly inaccessible online due to copyright protections. For this reason they are here sourced to Manfred Hiebl, Genealogie Mittelalter and Charles Cawley, Medieval Lands where other secondary literature can be found.
