If you've finished the Farseer Trilogy and are still unsure about the Elderlings Series, you should try the Liveship Trader Trilogy

A couple years ago I decided to get back into reading after a long hiatus and I started looking at authors and series that people were recommending. Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy were some of the books that kept getting brought up often so I decided to check them out. After finishing them, I found the series to be...fine. I enjoyed the series and the characters, but overall their was nothing really that wowed me. I will admit that a part of that may be due to the expectations I brought coming into the books of a series that has "Assassin" in the title. After finishing Assassin's Quest, I thought that maybe Robin Hobb and the rest of the books just weren't my cup of tea.

On a whim I decided to just give Ship of Magic a try, and it immediately changed my mind on the series. With the first trilogy, when I finished a couple of chapters I was perfectly happy putting the book down and moving on with my day. With Ship of Magic I found myself needing to know what would happen next. I finished the first Liveship Trader book in about 4 days ( I mainly consume books through Audible), where it took me a little under 2 weeks to finish Assassin's Quest.

So if you're still on the fence about whether or not you should continue with some of Robin Hobb's other series, you owe it to yourself try Ship of Magic to help you decide.
