Dr. Shapiro is a well-known psychiatrist who has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in his private practice since 1982. He is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. His experience includes over 30 years in private practice treating children, teens, and adults, in both in-patient and out-patient settings.

Dr. Shapiro earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, BA; Magna Cum Laude, and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. His postgraduate training includes one year of general medicine, a two year Adult Psychiatry residency and a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Children’s Psychiatric Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Shapiro is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been a member of the American Child Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, Ohio State Medical Association, Kentucky State Medical Association, and the Academy of Medicine in Cincinnati.
Dr. Shapiro has also been a board member of the ADHD Council as well as a CHADD Advisory board member. He is a known lecturer, consultant and author.

For over 30 years, he has been devoted to his work as a caring physician for patients with Anxiety, Behavioral problems, Depression, Chemical and Physiological disorders, ADHD, various mood disorders including Bipolar and other psychiatric diagnoses. Dr. Shapiro believes in careful use of medication combined with psychotherapy. He is a strong believer in close work with the patient, keeping up with the newest information in the field, and finding a treatment regimen best suited for each individual patient.
