Vernee Christell Watson-Johnson is an American actress, author, and acting coach. She portrays Helen on Peacock's modern-day reinterpretation, Bel-Air.

Biography[]

Watson pursued a professional career in acting at the age of 17, with the Al Fann Theatrical Ensemble in Manhattan, with whom she toured with for 5 years after graduating from Cathedral High School and New York University with a major in drama. She is best known for her role as Viola Smith in the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series. Although, she is perhaps just as well known for her recurring roles as Vernajean Williams on the 1970s ABC sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter and Stella Henry in the longest running American soap opera General Hospital. She most recently starred in the CBS sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola and her other credits include series such as The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, NCIS, and Two and a Half Men.
