Nigel Nicolson

(1917-2004), Publisher, editor, author and politician

Nigel Nicolson was the younger son of Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. After an education at Balliol College, Oxford, he served in the Grenadier Guards before becoming an MP in 1951. Best known as the Director of the publishers Weidenfeld and Nicolson (1948-92) and as a biographer, editor and journalist.
