Our courses were rigorous, but our professors encouraged collaboration with our peers through group papers, presentation, and problem sets. Sophomore: The University of Michigan takes a lot of pride in calling itself the best university in the world, but while finishing up my sophomore year I could not agree more. There is such a healthy balance between challenging courses that make students competitive prospects in their next step in life and opportunities to destress and enjoy the "best years of our lives", from watching our football team win the national championship to simply receiving free treats around campus from staff. Freshman: There are a lot of pros and cons about going to ECPI University. Firstly, the tuition price alone is enough to scare some people away. However this school made the most sense for me at the time because after getting out of boot camp and Hospital Corpsman basic in the Navy Reserves, I did not have any prerequisites. I enjoy the accelerated style of ECPI and how they incorporate prerequisites into the program. I am currently taking pharmacology and dosage calc, I have had all of my clinicals so far, cancelled, which i do find a major con. The program has promised to reschedule the clinicals and my reschedule was cancelled as well. I believe the hours will get made up toward the end of the program which poses as a con because juggling extra clinicals in a class with lecture and sim lab then the extra clinicals on top of it may be very challenging. for pros I enjoy the smaller class setting and amazing professors that do the best to prepare students for NCLEX and real world nursing.... Junior: So far, my time at NJIT has been a good one. I majored in architecture my first year, then switched to digital design the second, which I plan to keep until completion in 2027. For both of my first two years I dormed on campus. I really liked doing this. The design fields are taken really serious at NJIT, so being close to our labs and studios helped getting through it a lot easier. Though, I do wish they were a little more transparent with the additional costs of these majors. The costs of supplies are not detailed anywhere when applying for them and dropped at a moment's notice a week before a project. The dorming facilities meet my standards, the food is good enough, and I feel pretty safe on campus despite the harsh name Newark has made for itself. I look forward to going back in the fall.... Junior: I love BYU! Living right at the foot of the mountains is the best. I'm super into running and hiking, and the trails here are perfect for that. It's also a great location for those into winter sports. The campus is in great shape because they keep updating the facilities. In recent years, they've opened up some new places to eat in the last few years, and there’s always something good to try. Housing has been pretty chill for me too. I recommend staying on campus freshman year, it's a great experience. Off-campus I heard that some landlords can be tough, but I've lived at 3 different places with no issues. There are also so many clubs and activities to get involved in. The professors are caring and inspiring. Plus, the connections you can make at BYU are a big plus for starting out your career.... Campus is walkable filled with nice community spaces and plenty of libraries, cafes, and rooms to study and meet with classmates. A lot of school spirit centered around the athletics. Most people live off campus starting second year. The apartments in Chauncey Square are an excellent location and close to night life spots and restaurants. Sophomore: My experience at Florida State university was definitely a 10 out of 10. The campus is beautiful, and a reasonable size so finding ones classes, and walking around is manageable. The school is also home to over 300 clubs so finding something to do for my selective interests was doable. The fitness center is also amazing! The equipment is top tier, and the classes offered at the rec center are enjoyable, and are a great way to spend time from studying. The student life is also fun, as wherever you go on campus one will find people, and things to do! The dining halls are also very good, and have numerous food options. I personally have many dietary restrictions, and FSU's dinning hall made it easy for me to see what I can and cannot eat, as well as having numerous choices of food. Sophomore: Overall, I think that Dakota State University is a great school to attend. The professors are very flexible and helpful when it comes to their coursework. Though the campus may be a little small, the students and facility are nice and are always willing to help you. I enjoy the connections that you can make to some of the facilities and other students because since it is a small campus, it is pretty easy to make friends and keep those connections since you see them quite often throughout campus. Another thing I enjoy is the walking distance between the buildings throughout campus because it only takes about 5 minutes to walk through DSU, so you don't have to rush to class and you can enjoy the scenery or talk to friends on the way to class. Some changes I would like to see are the activities that occur throughout campus because it does get boring pretty quickly on campus, but Sioux Falls is only an hour away which is nice to get away from campus for a couple hours.... Freshman: I genuinely had a very good time during my freshman year at RIT. I made some really good friends and was able to connect with several of my professors. The only major critic I have of RIT, in regards to academics, is the speed that students are expected to pick up a skill-set. I was required to take two coding classes in my fall and spring semesters, and I had never coded ever. The classes were marketed as intro level but I routinely struggled with the concepts and labs, only to have to learn a new concept and topic the following week. Computer Science is required for my major but it made it very difficult even, at time, being more difficult that my math and engineering classes.
