The Korea Airports Corp. (KAC) and the travel sector announced that starting in January 2024, Jeju Island will see 148 weekly international flights.

As of December 2023, the number had risen steadily from 20 to 123 flights, almost matching the pre-pandemic total of 181 flights recorded in 2019.

China’s Spring Airlines will begin operating seven weekly round-trip flights to Beijing and three weekly flights to Nanjing this month.

In addition, the airline will resume operating chartered flights seven times a week in addition to increasing the frequency of normal flights to Hangzhou to seven per week.

While Eastar Jet will start operating three weekly flights between Jeju and Taipei, Jeju Air will begin operating seven regular weekly flights between Jeju and Beijing in January 2024.

Additionally, the twice-weekly chartered flights to Macau will be resumed.

The island anticipates a rise in visitors from China and other Chinese-speaking nations.

By March 2024, chartered flights between Jeju and Taiwan’s Taipei and Kaohsiung, as well as Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Ningbo, Tsingtao, and Jinan, will be operating again.

Jeju will also see a revival of cruise tourism on additional routes.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province reports that 25 cruise ships from 25 international shipping companies will make 204 voyages next year, which is more than 2x as much as the trips made this year.
