Stunning views of the fjords, strategic stops at some spots for pics. The boat is quite comfortable as well, but the windows are not good for pics as the water is always staining the glass, bring warm clothes as it can be quite cold and windy on the outside, the best place to take pics. Best time to go is around May and the snow is melting and you have plenty of waterfalls to admire. The only downside is the train back to Bergen which is a normal train, so not as comfy.

This trip (boat through songesfjord, flam railway, train to Bergen) was worth the extra cost over the Norway in s nutshell trip. The boat trip was amazing, considering it was a normal passenger trip really! Covered hours of stunning scenery with occasional but good commentary.
Top tip: get there early to get a good seat!
The flam railway was a very pretty trip too, and linked seamlessly with the Bergen train.
Considering all three parts are semi-independent with no guide, it was a pleasant and very easy way to see the beauty of Norway in a short time.

I have just started this tour and am spending the night in Flam at the Fretheim Hotel. As an aside, the Wifi only works in hallway if in room 223. We were overcharged 500 NOK; the hotel website says 1350 and Fjord Tours quotes 1650.The Fjord pass is a gimmick. I have researched our next 2 hotels on the Internet and the hotels themselves are charging the same amount quoted by S. in a Nutshell with a supposed discount built into their rates. In short, there is absolutely no discount. In the future, I would book directly with the hotels and get the same if not better deal. It may also be worth booking train and boat separately without using this company.
