Tiger 3 box office: Salman Khan starrer is trying to follow the footsteps of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan.Salman Khan’s action drama Tiger 3 hit the screens on Diwali. The Maneesh Sharma directorial, also starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles, follows the events of Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan. It is a sequel to Tiger Zinda Hai and the fifth installment in the Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Besides Salman, Katrina and Emraan, the movie also stars Revathi, Ashutosh Rana, Riddhi Dogra, Vishal Jethwa, Kumud Mishra and Ranvir Shorey. Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are expected to make cameo appearances in the film.

Tiger 3 is a crucial film for Salman Khan as his last few movies have failed to make an impact at the box office. Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi believes that though Salman’s stardom wonât be affected by a flop, but an actor of his stature needs to earn well with his every film. Rathi said, âOf course, every film is important for a star of that stature and not just for him, but also for the industry in general because we only count on these sort of stars to bring in money that can allow the exhibition and distribution sector to continue rolling.â
He added, âTiger 3 is a very important film. However, his stardom wonât get eroded with just one film because it has been built over 30 years and doesnât get shaken by a couple of years. Even before the release of Wanted, he had a string of flops, but he came back from that. This is something we expect to happen all over again.â

YRF’s Tiger 3 has delivered an all-time historic Diwali Day opening, which is also the biggest of Salman Khan’s career. As per the producers, the film collected Rs 43 crore on day 1 from Hindi, while dubbed versions brought in Rs 44.50 cr. Katrina Kaif said in a statement, “I love doing envelope-pushing, risky action sequences on screen and the Tiger franchise has always presented me with the opportunity to take things several notches higher when it comes to being a female action heroine. I have lived the life of a super spy vicariously through Zoya and I love the fact that she is one hell of a fighter. She can take anyone and just like Tiger, she can also be the last person standing. That’s new and exciting for me and for the audience because they can see a woman who can fight as good as a man.”
She added, “I’m aware that the towel fight sequence at the Hammam from Tiger 3 has gone viral. It was a very, very difficult sequence to shoot because it has incredible hand to hand fighting inside a steamy Hammam room so gripping, fending, landing the punches and the kicks everything was very difficult. Hats off to Adi for thinking of this brilliant scene because I don’t think there has been a fight sequence like this featuring two women on screen in India. The way Maneesh and the action team executed it was just incredible - everything was detailed out to a T. So, it was a total team effort which people are loving. Zoya takes on a brilliant fighter played by Michelle Lee and I’m sure the intensity, the aggression, the brutality in the scene is going to make people gasp. For me, this is one of the best action sequences I have ever seen women do on screen. It’s simply brilliant and I can’t wait for people to see the full action set piece in theatres.”
