Before Detroit, Michigan’s Diana Ross became a member of the iconic all-lady group, The Supremes, she grew up in a large family of seven siblings, who all happened to be a neighbor to the legendary Smokey Robinson. When Ross was a teenager, her schooling interests involved clothing design as this was her original passion before taking a serious interest in a musical career. In addition to working out fashionable designs, Ross also took up modeling and cosmetology. As a means to earn income, she also took up hairdressing, servicing her neighbors upon demand.

Going Supreme

At the age of fifteen, Diana Ross also performed vocally in all-girl bands that would ultimately lead to her discovery, as well as the discovery of the Primettes, which were renamed to Diana Ross & the Supremes. As for the single, it charted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
