He first started on the violin, then moved on to a banjo-guitar, and eventually became a worldwide famous guitar virtuoso, a prolific composer and a band leader. His music is a very own and original mixture of 1920 s New Orleans Jazz, French waltz and Gypsy swing. Even today, he is still regarded as one of the most advanced jazz guitarists.
