This is a tough read. Kirsty will get few breaks in her heartbreaking passage, and the author is careful not to give away the key mysteries before their time. Well recommended.
My main beef with this book is the blurb on amazon which is a precis of the complete book apart from the epilogue. It should have 'Spoiler Alert' above it. But the book is well written, a sad and often heart wrenching story and one I am pleased to have read. I shall read more by John MacKay.
I was drawn in and held to the book to the very end, feeling the emotions of those most intimately involved with the drama, when one of their own is savagely raped.
It's a grim tale, but there is human kindness and empathy as well.
This book is not for those looking for high drama and adventure; it's gentle and savage in an entirely different way.
