Man Utd academy coach disagrees with Erik ten Hag about Jadon Sancho over one thing

Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career is on thin ice and it’s unclear where he’ll stand upon his return from loan. But if one academy coach gets his way, it could see the winger back in favour.

Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho had a very public falling out at the very start of this season. It saw the Manchester United boss call out the 24-year-old for what was effectively his training attitude and professionalism.

To this, Sancho fired back a message on social media which he should’ve apologised for but refused to do so. Due to this, he spent months with the youth set-up as he trained with the academy players.

This ended when Sancho got a loan move back to his former club Borussia Dortmund in January. But now he’s close to finishing up there and returning to Carrington. As this approaches, it’s been revealed what an academy coach thought of Sancho.

What the academy coach made of Jadon Sancho

Things can change very quickly in football and Sancho’s last six months are a reminder of this. As things stand, Sancho will play a Champions League final in just a few weeks, months after his demotion to the U18s.

Sancho spent a few months in the dressing room with the youngsters and was spotted on multiple occasions watching Adam Lawrence’s league-winning side at Carrington.

Now, according to reliable academy reporter Finley King – also known as Academy Scoop on X – one academy coach has praised Sancho for some of the things Ten Hag ostracized him for.

He reported that an unnamed academy coach has described Sancho as, “A delight with the younger players, and a top professional”, during his time working with the £73m player.

This review is quite contrasting to how Sancho has been perceived after his falling out with Ten Hag and shows there is still support for the winger at the club.

Manchester United have a huge decision to make this summer

Sancho’s resurgence from January on will have left the decision-makers at Carrington with a massive decision to make on him this summer.

He may have been almost sure to leave before his loan came good but now he’s once again becoming the player that made United sign him initially.

This could mean he’s handed a second chance at United, although as much as it’s up to him and the club ultimately whoever is the manager come July will determine his future.

If Ten Hag stays, the pair will need to overcome their differences which have thus far been unsolvable. But the appointment of a manager like Thomas Tuchel could do the opposite and hand Sancho a way back into the spotlight.
