Khalid is back in heavy rotation on our playlists with new music. In preparation for his forthcoming third album, he dropped the pensive, Alicia Keys-sampling lead single “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” earlier this month. He now follows that up with a live performance visual of the track, and he invited a few surprise guests to join him.

No, one of those surprise guests isn’t Alicia Keys, but British songstress Sinéad Harnett, who does a mighty fine job of singing Keys’ sampled vocals from “Un-thinkable” in this performance. (As a matter of fact, Sinéad sounds so good we wouldn’t mind hearing her sing a full cover of “Un-thinkable.”) Also contributing their vocals to this live set are singers Phabo and Peter Manos.

The trio of vocalists are just a few of the musicians gathered around Khalid in the relaxed recording session. Shot in black-and-white, the camera pans around the room a few times, focusing on all of the players playing. The camera always circles back to Khalid, who’s seated on a couch in the middle of the action just singing his broken heart out.

When the last note is played, Khalid gives props to everyone in the room as he removes his headphones and says, “Great job.” When you watch this engrossing live performance of “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” we suspect you’ll be saying the same thing.
