So I modded a cheap keyboard from Amazon...
Bought this cheap $30 havit 89 keyboard WITH a numpad. It has such a cool layout, perfect for data entry and compact. The only problem was that the stock red linears (and stabs) that came with it sucked hard, so I replaced it with Outemu Peach Linears. Types so much better now. This is going to be my new traveling keyboard.

Oh that's a pretty neat format. Nice!
I like this layout. I wish someone would design a really nice keyboard using it. It wouldn't be a daily driver, but there are times this would be a useful layout to have.
I've never seen that layout before, I like it!
Why is this layout not more common?
IMO because 96%/1800 is likely very similar in dimensions and utilizes space much better and you get easy access to home, end, pgup, pgdn without the need of function keys or toggling numlock
Was it hotswapable or did you need to desolder it?
had to desolder. Worth it imo.
Looks like a soldered board.
the holes for the pins are much smaller and they don't have the hotswap sockets or rings so they are soldered.
Aigo A87 has a similar layout. When you press Fn+F8, it turns the right keys into numeric pad keys

Love the layout and theme on the Keycaps, can ask which Keycaps they are?
Sleeper build. Cool
I have the same keyboard! Good job.
that’s how I learned too. Modifying a roccat amino 120 but it had soldered switches😤. Sadly I had to learn that even if you add plate foam, switch foam and really nice switches they can not make up for the acoustics of the board’s geometry. I still like the way it looked tho. Even if your stabs are proprietary you can disassemble them and lube them for big improvements 🙂
My problem with it is that some of the keys stopped responding consistently after 1.5-2yrs owning it. Ironically, the same thing's happening on my RK63.
Also, obligatory "best layout" addition. But really, it IS objectively the best TKL-sized layout. Those squished together 80% and 1800s are so ass, and I just don't get the 65, 70, and 75 craze. It's not that much harder to just use a 60 as intended, particularly one with the 4 equally sized 1.25u bottom right buttons.
