Just to be sure since you say it was reset, but are you at the home screen?

Do you see the "Settings" icon - the blue icon with the gear in it?

Just realized too that during the setup after a reset, the phone's Wi-Fi is automatically turned on so it can ask to connect. Did it not do that?

If he just bought it (as in paid good money for a broken Z10).... how does he know the SIM reader is the issue, and not the whole radio chip.

And with no Mobile Network, I'm not sure what the goal is with tethering?

But yeah the WiFi should just be one during initial setup, then have to go though the https://forums.crackberry.com/showth...1#post13625326 steps for skipping activation.

After resetting your BlackBerry Z10, follow these steps:

    Wi-Fi:

    Open Settings.
Navigate to "Networks and Connections" > "Wi-Fi."
Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to your network.
    Bluetooth Tethering:

    Enable Bluetooth in Settings.
    Pair with the desired device.
In Bluetooth settings, enable "Internet Tethering" for the paired device.
    USB Tethering:

Connect Z10 to a computer via USB.
In Settings > Network and Connections > USB, enable "USB Tethering."
If issues persist, consider software updates or consult BlackBerry support. For SIM card reader problems, professional assistance may be required.
