Palate Cleanse?

Look at this bastard

So idk about y'all but after this week I think we need a good old fashioned book episode. Honestly I think Robert would get excellent content out of Mark Chiusano's "The Fabulist" it's biography of "George Santos" I assume that's his real name 😆 I spent most of it mouth agape at the absolute stupid amount of what he was able to get away with

Yeah, after these past two weeks, we need another Eel Horse episode or something.

Edited

I’d like one about James Frey, Margaret Seltzer, Herman Rosenblat, Norma Khory and other fake memoir writers

I imagine a palate cleanser is coming next week. For the darker episodes that's generally how he follows up.

I recommend Bobby Fingers' new video for some well timed mental floss. Grinned like an idiot for the entire running time.

Did not know that there was a book about George Santos! Thanks for the rec.

Your Favorite Band Sucks. Three parter on Aerosmith and a two-parter on Mr. William Joel.

A good non bastard book one would be Endurance by Alfred Lansing. It's about Eric Shackleton's I'll fated attempt to reach the South Pole. Fucking incredible tale of survival

The perfect way would be to do a German bastard who's not also so grim. The kind that can get satirized on late night programming.

There are a few of them.

And above all I would be really interested in an episode on Christian Lindner. He's a run of the mill right-wing Libertarian, chief of the FDP, but he's also a cult of personality and poster child for his party in a political landscape where it's really abnormal for an individual to be as much of a centerpiece of their political party and the culprit of all its decisions as he is.

On the one hand, he's such an insufferable hinderance to any sort of good fiscal policy. On the other hand, he's so goddamn memeable! Again, because he is the face of his party but also because he's pretty much the face of all German fiscal policy. It's like he's got no colleagues in his branch. He's got a subreddit dedicated to templates for jerking off to him.

It is effortless to make fun of him because he's got a combination of corruption, smugness and stupidity that are so blatant in everything he says and does. And he says and does things constantly. He is omnipresent in the news feed. He's like if Bill O'Reilly was a 40 year-old politician.

I wish there was more content on the dilbert guy. (Is there more content to cover on the dilbert guy?) That's exactly the type of episode I need right now.
