Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse football has doubled the number of recruits verbally committed to its 2025 class in 24 hours.
The Orange received its third commitment of the weekend Sunday from New York defensive back Jordan Gibbs, who plays at Longwood High School in Middle Island, N.Y.
He joins offensive lineman Byron Washington and cornerback Marcus Upton as prospects who visited SU spring practice Saturday and committed following the visit. Between 40 to 50 commits were on campus for the second day of spring camp, a team spokesman said.
Gibbs is 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds and also runs track at Longwood. He is currently unrated in the 247Sports Composite.
“Jordan is HOMEGROWN,” Longwood head football coach Sean Kluber wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “He went through our youth program, offseason training (and) he is a stellar sprinter on our track team. Couldn’t be prouder (and) we’re excited for his senior year!”
Syracuse now has six verbal commitments to its 2025 class — four defensive players and two offensive ones. All but Washington are from the Northeast.
