COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Starting this week, the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will start its Student Summer Pass Program.

Beginning Wednesday, COTA will offer passes for students of any central Ohio school, college, university, or trade school, a four-month, $62 pass valid from June 15 through Sept. 15. By comparison, monthly passes run $62.

The program is available to all students 5 years old and older to connect with the region’s libraries, summer camps, events, summer jobs, and internships — wherever the student would like to go along COTA’S service area.

Columbus City Schools’ high schoolers already have unlimited access during the summer thanks to a district partnership with COTA and can use their student IDs to access COTA — they do not need to enroll in the summer pass program.

To enroll, students must bring their valid student I.D. or proof of enrollment to COTA’s Customer Experience Center, located at 33 N. High Street. Students will be enrolled in the Student Summer Pass Program via the Transit app or a COTA Smartcard for those who do not have a smartphone. All students do is scan the QR code on the Transit app or their COTA Smartcard on the validator located on the right when they board a bus.
