Minecraft Manhunt es una serie de YouTube popularizada por Dream. El concepto gira en torno a un speedrunner que intenta derrotar al Dragón Ender ("vencer al juego"), mientras que uno o más cazadores intentan matar primero al speedrunner. La serie ha adquirido millones de puntos de vista y son algunos de los vídeos más populares de Dream, con Minecraft Speedrunner VS 3 Hunters GRAND FINALE como el vídeo más popular y visto en todo su canal, logrando más de 61 millones de puntos de vista.
Visión general[]
Una manhunt normalmente implica que el speedrunner intente llevar a cabo las siguientes tareas:
- Adquirir suministros (herramientas, armaduras/escudos, alimentos, etc.).
- Cree un portal Nether (ya sea arreglando un portal en ruinas o localizando una piscina de lava) para viajar al Nether.
- Localiza una fortaleza de Nether y mata a Blaze en busca de barras de fuego.
- Adquirir ojos de Ender (ya sea a través del comercio de cerdos, comercio de aldeanos, o matar a endermen por perlas ender).
- Localiza la fortaleza para viajar hasta el End.
- Mata al Dragón Ender.
El único objetivo del cazador o cazadores es causar la muerte del speedrunner - si el speedrunner muere en cualquier momento antes de matar al Ender Dragon (ya sea de morir en combate, morir a una trampa, o una muerte accidental) - se considera una derrota y el manhunt termina. Reglas[]
Dream has stated that Manhunt has a few rules to keep the game entertaining and fair to all players.[1] Some rules which have been confirmed are:
- The speedrunner has a 20 minute "grace period", so as to ensure the video will be to a reasonable degree of quality and entertainment. If the hunters kill the speedrunner too early on, they restart and do another attempt. Dream has released footage of a failed Manhunt run to his Twitter, which has since been uploaded to Youtube.[2]
- Using the Nether to travel long distances is not allowed.[3]
- Trapping or breaking Nether portals is not allowed.[4]
- Victory for the speedrunner is achieved upon killing the Ender Dragon. If the speedrunner kills the dragon and dies before exiting through the end portal, it is still considered a win for the speedrunner.[5]
Variations[]
There are several different variations of Minecraft Manhunt:
- Slayer/Hunter: The default version, in which the hunter(s) receive a compass which points to the location of the speedrunner. If the speedrunner is in a different dimension such as the Nether, the overworld compass points to the portal through which they travelled. In early versions of Manhunt, the compass did not work at all in other dimensions - this has since been fixed.
- Detective: The speedrunner leaves an everlasting particle trail (redstone dust) behind them. It has proven to be the worst ability, as the hunter can easily be deceived by the speedrunner retracing their steps.
- Juggernaut: The hunter spawns with full, enchanted diamond armor and has an enchanted diamond sword. The hunter also retains their inventory upon death.
- Assassin: The hunter has the ability to one-shot the speedrunner through a melee attack. This does not work via projectiles such as arrows. Their weakness is that they can be frozen if the speedrunner is looking at them, leaving them unable to attack and vulnerable to damage/death in various ways.
- Terminator: The hunter is a bot with infinite health, blocks, unbreakable gear and the Baritone mod (which finds the ideal route to a destination).
- Mutant: The hunter receives the default tracking compass, and is also able to hear the same in-game sounds that the speedrunner hears, in real-time.
- Mob Control: The hunter uses spectator mode, and has the ability to control mobs - such as making passive mobs run away, and hostile mobs attack the player.
- World Control: The hunter uses spectator mode and has the ability to control the world - clear out blocks, adjust gravity, control mobs, etc.
- Survivalist/Hitmen: The survivalist is restricted to a small section of the world, and permanently has the Glowing status effect. They only have to survive for 1 hour rather than attempting to beat the game. The hitmen are equipped with the default tracking compass.

- Antfrost is the first person to not have been a solo hunter against Dream.
- Dream has only been the hunter in 6 manhunts: Minecraft Speedrunner VS Hunter, Minecraft Speedrunner VS Assassin ft. Notch, 3 Minecraft Speedrunners VS Hunter ft.
