A motorcyclist is dead after being struck by two vehicles in a fatal hit-and-run in Dorchester County Friday evening.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the collision occurred on Ladson Road near Oakmont Avenue at 8:45 p.m.

Troopers say a motorcycle was traveling east on Ladson Road when an unknown vehicle attempted to turn from Oakmount Avenue and struck the side of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected into the westbound lane of Ladson Road and struck by another unknown vehicle.

The motorcyclist was declared deceased. A rear passenger of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the SCHP.

Both suspects are at large, as of May 11. The collision is under investigation by the SCHP and the Dorchester County Coroner's Office will identify the motorcyclist.
