Nick Lucero: the best drummer that everyone forgot about.

Everyone gives Gene Trautmann credit for the drumming on Rated R, but it was Nick Lucero that recorded The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret, Leg of Lamb, Auto Pilot, Better Living, In the Fade, and Headache. To me, these are the best drum songs on Rated R, and some of the best drum songs in Queens' entire discography. Too bad he doesn't get much recognition.

Didn't know this, chemistry is probably the best drum track especially with the breakdown section, I didn't know cymbals could create such an atmosphere.

I thought Josh drummed on Auto Pilot?

Whoops. You're right.

I'm sorry , but as a drummer myself , Debut Album and Rated R are the weakest QOTSA albums for drums. Songs for the Deaf , era vulgaris, and like clockwork have the strongest drumming ability.

QOTSA is one of the few bands still recognized for having great drummers. Most mainstream rock is so generic and produced to death when it comes to drumming.

All of this is just my opinion of course.

The first album has some great drum tracks like Avon and Walkin' on the Sidewalks, but I can see how the latest albums are a little better. It's hard to argue with Song for the Dead and No One Knows.

Correct. Joe C has said his fav qotsa song to drum was regular john

Joey was born to play Song for the Dead. Tempo be damned.

Nick Lucero was a great drummer. Leg of Lamb, Headache and In the Fade are really subtly great drum tracks. I salute him and his command of the skins.
