THE BEGINNING
To commemorate the great work of our founding father, Chung Shan, the school was named Chung Shan High School. Due to mismanagement, the number of students decreased to forty-seven. Several years later, a group of dedicated local elders and gentlemen reorganized the board and renamed the school Chung Shan Senior Industrial and Commercial High School. They brought in the young and studious Mr. Chen, now Principal Chen, to be the vice-principal.In a small valley in Da Liao, Principal and Mrs. Chen, with passion for education and persistent spirit, sought to rebuild the school. After thirty years of effort, they have created the "legend in the mountain" which we see today. They changed a notorious school into one that has received awards from the ministry of education. For a private suburban school, which lacked resources, it was indeed a rare and great accomplishment

EDUCATION IDEAL

Success comes from persistence; persistence comes from ideals. Chung Shan's evolution came from its persistence. Its four main ideals of education are to :
Treat students as our own children
Place the students interest first
Develop first class talents
Create positive interactions among the students, faculties, and the community

According to Principal Chen: "Education is a work of a hundred years; there are no shortcuts. We must do all we can to develop the students' potential and accompany them on their way to find their direction in life."

CAMPUS CULTURE

As you walk onto the campus you are greeted by a sign that says "Everything we do is for education". This is the ideal for all of the staff and faculty members

DAILY EDUCATION

Daily discipline is always the main teaching aim at Chung Shan. We make sure that smoking, littering, and harming any of the beautiful gardens does not occur. We teach that everyone should cherish "blessings, resources, and human-relationships."

ENVIRONMENT

Along with our surrounding green mountains and gorgeous valley, we maintain two gardens with the beautiful names: Dustless Garden and Worry-Free Garden. When stepping onto Chung Shan campus, you will see a garden that consists of a small artificial hill, a waterfall, and a small flowing river with some rare rocks and fishes. In addition, there are many kinds of plants such as peach blossoms, camellias, azaleas, and lotus that embellish the campus and make it more colorful and attractive.

BUILDINGS

There are seven buildings used for teaching purposes: the Chung Shan Building, the Yih-Hsien Building (leisurely gods). the Buo-Ay Building (charity), the Ching-Min Building (close to the people), the Min-Der Building (virtue and a clear mind), the Chi-Shan Building (ultimate goodness), and the Ruo-Shuei Building. All of the buildings are very well kept and beautiful inside and out, and contain the latest teaching equipment.
The elegant Tsiu-Heng Villa Dormitory was designed with the picturesque European architecture in mind. The Lui-He-Ching Composite Building, which was built in 1995, has a wonderful indoor sports center as well as computer labs.
