You might think that royals get enough glamour in their regular roster of duties, but when it comes to fashion's biggest red carpet event, even they can't resist. Past Met Gala attendees have run the royal gamut, from Princess Diana, who made a statement in a form-fitting navy blue gown and eye-catching pearl and sapphire jewelry on the red carpet in 1996, to Queen Rania of Jordan, who's made two Met Gala appearances, to Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Monaco's Princess Caroline, who has become a red carpet regular at the event.

Whenever members of the royal family are in attendance, they certainly know how to get creative across with the event's signature themes. Here, in celebration of the “The Garden of Time" themed 2024 Met Gala, we're taking a look back at some of the most elegant looks royals have worn to the Met Gala over the years.
