When actor and comedian Rakhee Morzaria was cast as a suburban mother of two in Run the Burbs, it was uncharted territory for her.

Her comedy is often rooted in a place of misinformed confidence — for instance, her Note to Self web comedy series navigates friendships, feminism and identity as a second-generation Canadian, with small everyday situations often spiraling out of control.

Now, Run the Burbs is on its second season. Morzaria tells Q's Tom Power about the challenges she's faced connecting with her character Camille, and how getting her first lead role in a TV show brought her back to pursuing her own creative projects.
