Michael E. Cummings, age 68, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends. A retired Columbus Firefighter from Station 7, an avid outdoorsman and gardener, and a graduate of Brookhaven High School, Class of 1967, he is preceded in death by his parents James and Norma Cummings. He is survived by his loving daughter, Amie (Duffy) Horan; sisters, Pamela (Dean) Bandel, Marsha (Terry) Gordon, Cheryl (John) Brunn, Susan (Tom) Sale, and Patricia (Michael) Childers; many nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Friends may call on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Private inurnment. In lieu of flowers, contributions if desired may be made to the Columbus Firefighters Foundation, 379 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215 or the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Still think of Mike when we drive thru the old neighborhood and pass the house on Wolford where Mike grew up....just past Colfax where I grew up. Eddie and Reggie Swanson.

We were so sorry to hear about Mike. We both knew Mike. Actually I knew Mike from elementary school thru high school and worked with Mike on the Columbus Fire Department. Mike was one of the "good guys" on and off the job.He will be missed.
