How can I add/remove sources of news on Microsoft Edge Newsfeed?
Hi and thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Please allow me to assist with your issue.

You can't configure exact sources of your newsfeed but you could personalize sections of content. Please take a moment to explore this article under "Personalize Microsoft Edge" section https://community.windows.com/en-us/stories/mic....

Please let me know if I can help you further!

On the article, in the bottom right corner of it, are three periods (...). Click on them, and then the "Hide stories from (source)." You'll have to confirm you want to hide the source, but once you do that, that source will not be in your newsfeed in Edge.

I don't know why the first respondent told you that it couldn't be done. 🙄

I just read your reply Mr. Branett. Hiding news sources on Microsoft Edge is pretty easy. It allows you to get rid of news source suppliers that you deem to be fake news. But these news sources don't stay hidden. Every few days I have to re-hide the same news (fake-news) sources over and over again. Please tell me how I can keep them hidden. I had navigated away from Microsoft as a home page because you either had to agree with their ideology or you had to find a different news supplier. I thought Edge was a great home page once I could eliminate what I do not ideologically agree with. Now it keeps coming back. If there is no way to keep a news source hidden such that it will stay hidden then I will have to go back to my Google Chrome and not see any of what Microsoft wants me to see.

Generally I have liked the Microsoft News app. But, now Microsoft News has removed the ellipsis ( ... ) beside the sources also, leaving no method for blocking a publisher. Because of their greed for the revenue they receive from these "News" sources, we are exposed to propaganda articles if we want to use their news app. So, like it or not I will be using a different News source that has more respect for their users.

I just reinstalled the News app to check, and the ellipses, and the ability to hide a source, are still there. Since it was a reinstall, it should be the latest version.

I don't keep it installed because I use the https://microsoftnews.msn.com site instead because unlike the app, the website lets you block individual articles, not just sources.

NO none of your replies work! Every day, every time a news app of a specific News Publisher appears that I, and other who have already complained, have already bock every day multiple of times a day that still appears on all of our News Feed. Even after it is blocked and I refresh the page It appears again. I don't understand why a blocked News Publishers still appears after I have it in my Hidden Publishers. An even after I have to keep blocking the same Publisher day, after day, after day. An even hour, after hour of each day. It will not go away. No matter if I hide it in my Personal Preference or in the X above the article on the right hand side of the article or even in the lower right hand side after clicking on the three dots. No matter what is click and even after refreshing the page it is usually still there. It will not go away. If a reader says that they don't want to see, or If they have Hidden a Specific Publisher from their News Page then guys we don't want to see them. Sooner or later you are going to not get people to read from you articles. We who prefer to set our own preference would appreciate it if we say we don't want to see (for example any Fox News article or any Sports News articles) then we don't want to see it. If we did then we can always go to the Fox news site and here what they say. But those of us who knows that they are what they are. Would like to keep them off of our new page. So Please fix this problem. An allow those of us to block the News Publisher that we prefer not to see. Allow us to block them and make sue the are kept blocked. Otherwise by you saying that we are able to do so and we're not, is misrepresenting what your product can do or can allow us to do. Please fix this problem. Thank you.

Today is September 9, 2021 and I can't locate this supposed eclipse (...) at the beginning, middle, or end of news articles from sources I don't want to read. The most annoying and ripe with misinformation is the Washington Examiner. PLEASE tell me specifically where I can delete these news feeds from the Washington Examiner so I don't have to view them in Edge. Please be specific.

Thank you.

I have the same issue as Olympia Man. There is no "..." option on any article in the news feed. I am running the latest Edge version, and here is what the feed looks like (notice there are NO "..." on any article!)

Your screenshot is of an MSN news page, not the news feed on Edge's New Tab Page that this thread discusses. Some of the content may be shared between the two, but they don't work in exactly the same way. You can ask questions about msn.com here: Results in MSN - Microsoft Community
