SKIDROW and RELOADED have never had a website. Same for CPY, CODEX, etc
I would advise against using any sites that hijack the name of actual crackers to get clicks.

Does anyone here remember getting their games from DirectConnect hubs? It makes me feel old thinking about it but I remember it like it was yesterday.
It seems like the website is taken down, I can't believe they'll miss out on this many days ad revenue from several 100's of thousands of traffic and clicks(albeit I hate the trick clicks which randomly takes me to an ad page instead of the content like maybe when I'm trying to see the gameplay), and no website update really take this much time just for "maintenance", by the end of 2018 I bet they got screwed and is trying to sort it out to bring it back one day or probably will go the way pcgames-download.com they also shutdown end of 2018 but had the decency to inform their users they had to shutdown, now you just see "this website is permanently closed. goodbye". I wish they(skidrow relaoded) came back, was really good and had great updates

Im not using skidrow anymore. I downloaded a game from it today and my antivirus detected a trojan in it.

It was windows defender and yes it could be a false alarm but i extracted the zip file and the folder was nowhere to be found which i found quite weird
If there was a file in the zip but then there was nothing after the extraction something went wrong. maybe windows detected it fast enough and deleted it before you could use it or you extracted it somewhere else? Idk... Could be a virus though you never know. which game was it btw

I'm pretty sure Scene groups don't want anything to do with torrents. Releases just end up on torrent sites through other people.

Nope, leechers on 2nd and 3rd tier dump-sites make torrents. Scene absolutely HATES torrents. When someone behind a lot of the torrents were outed via a scenenotice, dump sites were basically told 'kick them out, or we kick you out'.
Scene runs via FTPs with sfvs, in a very similar manner to how torrents work (albeit with 15000000byte pieces (or more recently 50000000 byte pieces)

@CHEF - Stop yourself... The Scene does NOT use torrents, usenet, kazaa, ddl-sites or anything else P2P.
The Scene runs on FTPs, so called Topsites, mostly racers and "curries" from low-tier dumps are the ones leaking releases to P2P.
the scene only ever posts to usenet that's why the files are always in 50+ pieces because of post size limits

The Scene doesn't use Usenet, and for the record there's no post size limits on Usenet either.
They are splitted in rars for multiple purposes:
1 Because FTPs are generally 1 connection per transfer, and 1 connection rarely saturates a fast connection.With multiple parts you can upload/FXP several parts at once.
2 Recovery purposes, so you can simply fill the corrupted part, instead of having to reupload the entire size of content in case of errors. This is where SFV's come into to the picture, to verify valid CRC checksums of each rar/zip.
