Personal note

Jerry Collins passed suddenly due to heart failure in January of 2022. He was 77 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda, his two daughters, Katie and Christy and his two grandchildren.

Dear Jerry-
You are my everything. I love you with all my heart. You are kind, caring and thoughtful. You are everything I ever wanted in a husband.

I loved you yesterday,
I love you still,
I always have and I always will.
Now and forever…

Love,
Linda
----------
My dad was a kind, caring and generous man who gave everything of himself and asked for so little in return. He was an amazing athlete in his younger days and played several sports in high school, including football and baseball. He also enjoyed golf, archery, riflery, hunting and fishing over the years. He tried to share his love of sports with his grandchildren and he was so happy to see them both be part of their Air Riflery teams in high school. He was even more proud to see their teams both win the Air Riflery State Championship senior year (one in 2019 and one in 2021). I was so grateful that my dad got to see his grandson’s team win the State Championship just weeks before he passed. He loved to call his grandchildren and share some advise on many topics as often as he could. He also loved to take them site seeing and help them practice Air Riflery, baseball and a few other sports whenever we were in Seattle. He was a very proud and caring father and grandfather. He also, loved cooking dinner for his family on the grill and he was quite good at it. He survived cancer twice and we were very blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did.

Love,
Christy
----------
My dad was a kind and caring father. He never left his wife and daughters in doubt of how much love he had for us, as we did for him. He worked so hard his entire life to give his family the best life that we could have. And we had a wonderful one with him and because of him. My husband Ben would often say that my Dad was like a second father to him. They spent hour and hours on projects together, from remodeling our house to building a retaining wall. And they always did such a great job on whatever they set their minds to. My dad was a perfectionist and would not stop until it was perfect. He never hesitated a second to lend a helping hand to us or friends. He was the most reliable person you could know and he could always be counted on.

He had a love for music, especially Willie Nelson, although the song “The Rose” was his favorite, being that it was my mom and dad’s song. He was a fan of anything Clint Eastwood did. But in the last couple of years, he watched episodes of Yellowstone over and over again. We are so sad that he wont get to see the concluding seasons. He loved a good burger and cheesecake or ice cream would be his choice of dessert every time.

And, the most memorable thing about him is how he loved to laugh as much as he loved to make others laugh. He was always cracking a joke. Sometime, as he was trying to tell a joke or something funny, he would have himself cracking up so hard that he could barely say it.

I will never forget your laugh, smile, and big strong hugs! I’m so proud to call him my Dad! I love and miss you so much!

Love,
Katie

Note:
His passing was very sudden, so please forgive us for taking so much time to create this memorial. He was loved by so many people, however, and we wanted to give his friends and relatives a place to grieve his loss and remember him for being the amazing man that he was. We have had so many friends reach out to us already and we appreciate your kindness. Any fond memories you would like to share of him are deeply appreciated. Please know that you are all in our prayers. May God bless you all…

With Love,
The Collins Family
